Amazing weekend where we threw a joint Thanksgiving dinner and birthday dinner for Dave. My roommate Greg and I planned an elaborate menu full of traditional Thanksgiving dinner fixins'.
On the menu, turkey (of course), ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, stuffing, mac and cheese, stuffing, cornbread muffins and cranberry sauce. Greg got a little creative and added brussel sprouts and bacon to the menu. And we had friends bring over various pies for dessert. Everything but the stuffing and pre-cooked was made from scratch. This was the first time I've made anything to this scale, but the timing was perfect and every dish tasted absolutely amazing.
Those pictures unfortunately don't give the full impact of the wide array of food and decor we had. I think both Greg and I were so proud of ourselves that we pulled something like that off! My favorite part was watching everyone enjoy themselves. Very few things give me pleasure like making the people I love happy.
One thing I'm very thankful for is being surrounded by a group of amazing friends, solid loving family, and an amazing boyfriend. Happy Birthdave! :o)
